Composition of SmCo Magnets

  • SmCo5 (Samarium Cobalt 1:5):   This type contains one samarium atom for every five cobalt atoms. It is easier to magnetize but offers lower magnetic strength compared to the second type.

  • Sm2Co17 (Samarium Cobalt 2:17): This type consists of two samarium atoms for every 17 cobalt atoms. It provides higher magnetic strength and better temperature stability.
